Configure Google Chrome To Be Your Default PDF Reader

Posted: 19 Mar 2011 05:00 AM PDT

If you are a Google Chrome user and find that you only need the most basic of PDF viewing capabilities, then why not use the built in PDF reader capabilities of the browser as your default viewer? If this sounds like something you want to give a whirl, take a look at this article which explains exactly how to do it.

One thing to keep in mind here is, at the time of this writing, the PDF viewer capabilities of Google Chrome are very basic. For example, there are no page or bookmark navigation functions, you can only scroll. Regardless, if all you find yourself using a PDF reader for is looking at your bank statements, this may be the ticket to finally get rid of a dedicated PDF reader program.

Have you given this a shot? If so, how does it work for you in comparison to dedicated PDF reader applications?
